How does Neurofeedback (NF) differ from Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)?

NF is completely different from ECT. ECT is a medical treatment done in a hospital setting where electrical currents are introduced into the brain inducing very controlled small seizures. It is a highly sophisticated and refined treatment that can be life saving for some. However, it is not to be confused or compared to NF as NF introduces nothing into the brain. NF is a non-invasive way of collecting information from the brain and then providing visual and/or auditory feedback to the brain allowing it to respond and stabilize itself.
